政治大學心理系、經濟系以及心腦學中心特別邀請美國紐約大學（New York University）的Paul W. Glimcher教授蒞校訪問，並將於12月7,8,9號期間進行三場公開演講。Paul W. Glimcher教授的研究領域 著重於神經科學（Neuroscience）與 神經經濟學（Neuroeconomics），利用基本的數理經濟學、心理學與神經生物學實驗方法，進行上述神經經濟學等前瞻議題的實證研究。

Paul W. Glimcher教授近年主要研究重點著重在神經經濟學(Neuroeconomics)的範疇，探討經濟決策與大腦神經的關聯性。其相關研究利用單一神經細胞記錄與核磁共振儀器(fMRI) ，發現人類與動物在 “延遲貼現” (delay discounting)的決策歷程時，有不同的腦區進行不同的處理。另外Glimcher教授也深入探討大腦皮質(the structure of cortical areas)在人類面臨風險(risk)與意義不明確的(ambiguity)決策歷程中所扮演的角色。
